You're just wanting to make Sily's head explode...  I can actually see that blood vessel in his forehead throbbing from here!

Everyone has their little pleasures, getting Sily's vein to throb over P-V's is one of mine ;)

If it's too much trouble he could always have a vascular surgeon perform a microphlebectomy. Usually cost under a kilpbuck.

I don't know how they can predict the entire winter forecast when they can barely predict the weather from day to day.

I don't know about long term forecasts, but winter weather is here and I am going to change my route on this load to avoid a snow storm in the Sisters. Two passes through there are a mess, and I don't chain. If I need chains, I park or find another route. Not looking forward to winter.

I don't like to travel during the winter months because of the weather, I'm glad I don't have to do it for my job.

I am not fond of the dreaded Polar Vortex either Sily.  Two winters ago was one of the worst winters I can remember, I'd be quite happy not to have to relive that one anytime soon.

I doubt he objects to the weather phenomenon so much as the term.

The trem is fine, and it has been used for a long time in meteorological science.  I simply object to the news media hype after they discovered the term.

I can't wait until the news media discovers the meteorological word for a 'raindrop' or snowflake:  hydrometeor link wiki

future headline:

The polar vortex unleashes a hydrometeor storm, devastating homes, destroying the power grid and knocking out power to millions!

We're getting our "white Christmas" two and a half weeks early.  2" on the ground and still snowing.  Here in West GA we stand a better chance of seeing a white Thanksgiving, so we"ll take what we can get.

Finally bought a snow shovel two years ago, used it for the first time this afternoon.  In fact, it's the first time I've EVER used a snow shovel.

Supposed to get 6+" here tomorrow. Winter has arrived.

3-6 down here, with locally more where this sets up.

Dry but miserable now.

40F now, but it feels a LOT colder.

We may see near freezing rain here in Albany tonight as this front passes through. The freezing line will be about 50 miles north of us, 50 miles south of Dewtey.

Local weather dullards say we're about to get hit, but with their track record, their alarmist attitude doesn't worry me. Up until an hour ago, it was sunny and warm enough to go out without a coat.

I played in a couple of those in high school! The refs & coaches finally put road cones every 5 yards on the side lines, eyeballing the rest.

Snowfall stopped Saturday morning around 10, final tally 6".  5 smallish pines fell across my fence, minor damage, but a good bit of firewood for next winter.  :)  7 large branches snapped off my 100+ year old Water Oak, when they finish falling, more firewood, probably enough to last all next winter.  As the breaks are 20-30 feet up, I'll have to be patient, or call a tree surgeon.  Good thing I'm a patient patient.

Lost power 3AM Sat, restored at 10AM, generator runs well:  :ok:

I wouldn't mind if a mod wants to move the last two posts #2314-15 to Doc's Winter 2017-2018 thread.
